thank you my friend

I am pretty sure that I will be the only person interested in what I have to say... I guess I am truly jealous of anyone that has their 15 minutes of fame (read: reality television shows), but I cannot be edited by big corporations to fit their story lines. I would say or sell their products, but maybe I can get a sponsor.

We Left at 6:30am on Saturday and Returned at 10:15pm on Sunday

That's exactly how much time we spent travelling, staying at, watching and travelling home for the Indy 500. It was so dang hot on Sunday. I understand that the track surface temperature was about 125 degrees. That means that the air temperature was likely in the high 90s. They say 90 degrees on the Weather Channel web site... but it sure felt hotter than that.

When we arrived on Saturday, it was getting warm. After a walk down Georgetown Road to the center of activity, we were all hot and disgusting. Fortunately for us, a Big Lots is not far from our campground in the Coke Lot. Well, close enough that you don't know how far it is until you've already walked it.

Pete and I chose to walk to Big Lots from Turn 4. We made it to Big Lots and found a suitable sunscreen house, we even had three to choose from. At roughly 5:00pm on Saturday, our little slice of paradise was up. Even at that late hour it provided plenty and much needed protection.

Of course the race was exciting... it was a great finish. More valuable though was the time that we spent with Pete and Paul. It was a fast and furious weekend and we are looking forward to next year already.
