Memoirs of a Geisha

I saw Memoirs of a Geisha today. It is the first movie that I have truly wanted to see in a long time. I had to wait for quite some time. It was certainly worth the wait. Japanese culture has always fascinated me. If the cost of airfare and hotel was not prohibitively expensive I would have been there and back a dozen times. I do not and still do not know very much about what the geisha culture was and what it meant. I know that this is a dramatization and I will be looking to learn more about it after seeing this film. With that said, I was mesmerized. The severity and beauty all at once. This certainly makes me want to learn more.
