thank you my friend

I am pretty sure that I will be the only person interested in what I have to say... I guess I am truly jealous of anyone that has their 15 minutes of fame (read: reality television shows), but I cannot be edited by big corporations to fit their story lines. I would say or sell their products, but maybe I can get a sponsor.

I have no blogs

I have no blogs... see this shouldn't be a great deal of work. It should just be. Curses, I am not inspired this evening.

House Hunting

Well Friend, today Dan and I went looking for houses. We spent the better part of the afternoon doing so. We looked at six... we didn't find "home" today, but we have next weekend booked too.

I must confess that I am quite excited. I will tell you how excited I am. I was looking at wallpaper patterns. That's how excited I am. I even visited the HGTV website. These are not at all normal activities for me. In fact, I may even get concerned phone calls from friends and cards from family after they read this.

I was looking at lamps. I have ordered catalogs from some lamp store. I ordered the new Ikea catalog, the new Pier 1 catalog and even Crate & Barrel.

I will tell you this... "home" isn't too far away.

I am Very Hungry

I have already eaten half a frozen pizza, some chip and I have had a soda. Earlier today I had some mini-waffles and two sausage patties. Still, my stomach feels like I could eat a hamburger. Maybe it won't be a hamburger. Maybe it will be something else.

We'll watch more Olympics tonight. I love to watch the Olympics. For me, it's fun.

I need a hair cut.

I would like a jar of peanut butter. I guess that means going to get groceries... or else no peanut butter.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

What a fantastic book. I wasn't really thinking about anything and then somehow "Super Fudge" came into my head. Of course, you can't have "Super Fudge" without "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" or is it "Tale of a Fourth Grade Nothing?" I am not sure. Judy Blume has written some wonderful books... then again so did Beverly Cleary. Any book with Ramona Quimby in it is fantastic.

We did not get any mail today. I am waiting for my golf shoes to arrive. I wonder how long it takes mail to get from Wisconsin to Rhode Island. Of course I sent the payment on Monday and on account of Presidents' Day there was no mail. So that means that it likely did not go out until Tuesday. Today is Friday. I can't find anything that will tell me how long it will take. So first the money has to go to Rhode Island, then the shoes have to make it from Rhode Island to Wisconsin.

Next week is March... a few weeks closer to golf.

I am Trying to Think if I Have any Funny Stories

I don't know that I do off hand. I used to tell stories all the time. Some people question how much grounding they had in truth. Sure, sometimes I exaggerate but that is what makes a good story, isn't it? It isn't that my life is any less funny. I am sure that it is, I just don't always see the humor in it. I think that is the "grown up" Ann. I was just saying today to a friend that if the 21 year old Ann met the 33 year old Ann, the 21 year old Ann just might call the 33 year old Ann "old" and ask a few questions... questions like:

  • What in the choose an expletive happened to you?
  • Who makes you wear those clothes?
  • That's your car?
  • Golf? That's for old people who wear dork clothes, right?
  • A six pack of beer lasts how long at your house?

Well that might be what it would be like, if I could be like Cher and turn back time. But alas, I am not Cher. I am Ann. My only super power now is being able keep my check book in some sort of order.

Interesting Place

We are at an interesting place right now. Dan and I have had some life changes and it is good. Still even good changes bring unknowns. Hopefully we'll have even more exciting news happening around here.

John Clayton is telling me that Drew Brees will play for the Dolphins this fall. John Clayton also told me a few weeks ago that it is very likely that Brett Favre will return next season. Sure he will. He may be right about Drew Brees, I don't think so about Favre.

I will say this, each day I learn more and more. More about myself, more about other people. It's never as cut and dry as I think it is. But then again, I never thing anything is cut and dry. Just ask Dan.

Tonight I had hot dogs for dinner. Yes, hot dogs. Unfortunately we have no relish. We have no relish on account of I hardly ever eat hot dogs. We are also almost done with the Valentine's Day candy that Dan got for me. Only the dark chocolate is left. All the milk chocolate is gone.

Emergency Frozen Pucks

Let me tell you friend, it isn't a bad idea to have some pucks in the freezer at all times. They come in handy for burns. I didn't post yesterday on account of I burned my thumb, index, tallman and ring fingers on my right hand. Fortunately for me, I am brilliant enough to keep some special souvenir hockey pucks in the freezer. One if from the ice at the Savvis Center (home of the Blues) from a fan appreciation promotion after the game. My friend convinced the people running the promotion that I should be able to keep my puck. I fanned on the shot but got to keep the puck. The other is from the Milwaukee Admirals pre-game warm up.

This weekend we spent some time with two of our nephews... they came for a sleep over and we had a lot of fun! We ate (always on their minds) went to see Curious George and watched The Empire Strikes Back at Home. The next day we went to Uncle Jimmy's to watch the Daytona 500. They are good boys. I loved having them here and I am looking forward to the next sleepover!

Today, my burn doesn't hurt and I smiled as I put away all of the drawings and crayons.

Man is it Cold!

Right now it is 0 degrees. That is 0 without the wind chill. It is -7 in Green Bay, 5 at Mackinac Island, -21 at Langdon, ND. It is -18 at Bemidji, MN and -24 at International Falls. It is 18 at St. Louis, MO and 29 at Louisville, KY. Meanwhile it is 61 degrees at Orlando.

Tomorrow will be a fun day and an interesting day. Saturday is kids day! The nephews are visiting and we will have to be careful about going outside on account of it's so cold.

Golf Shoes

I am looking for a pair of golf shoes. I am looking on ebay right now and have looked at the golf superstores on the web and all that. Let me tell you, I don't have the biggest feet in the world but I must have the most uncommon size. Size 9-10 depending on the shoe.

Oh I wish I was short and small and cute with perfect little size 5 feet. Then I could find all kinds of wonderful golf shoes... tartan plaid saddle shoes even. I am glad that I don't have size 12 feet otherwise I would really be up a creek. I would wonder what a woman with size 9 feet would be crying about any way. I know that I don't really "need" golf shoes. I wouldn't be one of those people who wears their golf shoes to the driving range. No need for that. No I don't really need them. But I would like them.

What I would like more though is for it to stop snowing and be spring already. If you don't know, Mike Seidel from the Weather Channel is in Green Bay tonight. He only goes where the weather is really crappy. Now, it isn't as bad here as it is there. I understand that I-43 was shut down earlier today. Just spoke with Johnny G. in Green Bay they are in good shape.

We had cheddarwurst for dinner to celebrate getting our taxes 95% done. Now we are watching the Olympics and will most likely have some chocolate in a little bit.

Chocolate and Roses

Dan was very good to me today. For some reason, he thinks that I deserve roses and chocolate. How lucky I am. We have enjoyed a steak dinner tonight (made in our own broiler) along with mashed potatoes and slow cooked garlic and pepper-laden mushrooms. Now after watching a bit of the Olympics I am ready to enjoy some chocolate. The roses will stay at work as something cool to have at work (in addition to my Elvis albums). Thanks Danny Banjo!

The Frozen Tundra Classic

Well, we were there! The Frozen Tundra Classic between your Wisconsin Badgers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Badgers won, we sat inside and had a great time. It was a great and busy weekend. I got to spend time with some folk who I love very much.

It made me realize that there is a lot more that I want to do to see the people that I love. I want to do that... and there are a lot of people out of there that I love.

More prioritizing of what is important and what I do with my time in my personal and professional life. Personal life is most important, however professional life makes personal life possible. It can be rewarding which also makes personal life good too.

I only wish we had one more day to this weekend. It was a fast trip all around. My cousin Pete is driving back to Owensboro with a cooler full of Wisconsin sausage of all types. He only left about two hours ago from here, so he has quite a bit of a drive left.

Meanwhile, we are home and enjoying the Olympics. I like the Olympics.

Day 2

Day 2 at home. Not as good a day for movies. Thursday it should not matter. I will be back in the saddle again. Our taxes will be done next week. Hopefully that brings us a cha-ching. Still looking forward to the Frozen Tundra Classic this weekend. Maybe a nap this afternoon. Here's to no more snot.

Chicken Noodle Soup

I stayed home from work today on account of I have a bacterial infection in my sinuses. Sounds pretty gross when it is put that way. I am now on an anti-biotic. Something that hasn't happened in a number of years on account of I am alergic to most of them. Not this one though and I have been on it for about 20 hours now.

At any rate I was quite miserable for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully by Wednesday morning I will be in good shape. Today I have had some chicken noodle soup, fritos, peanut butter creme oreos and gatorade. I have also had two decent naps today and I am hoping for a third if at all possible. I have stayed in my recliner since nearly 8:00am. My body is thanking me for not making it run around like crazy as I have.

So there you have it.

Snot Factory

That's what I have been. What ever I have has held on for about two weeks. Only recently have I been experiencing the faucet effect. But this whole time I have had an abnormal amount of mucus. It's been pretty gross to tell you the truth. So here I am, the snot factory. It was bad this morning that I woke up at about 3:30 with no hope of sleeping again, except for may 20 or 30 minutes here and there on the recliner. I plan to pretty much collapse by the time Sunday evening comes around. There is a lot happening between here there, still it will be a good weekend. I just need to lose the snot!

Louisiana Hot Sauce

It gives me heartburn. Dan made us quesadillas for supper... good chicken quesadillas. I just have to have hot sauce. Now it feels like someone is squeezing my heart. Stop that! It does hurt quite a bit and will likely lead to not sleeping very well. So what I guess. I'll sleep when I'm dead.

In other news, I think I destroyed my device known as an "Audio Buddy." Too much power. 800 millivolts instead of 500. That might have done it.

It was an interesting day today. Panic from 7:00am on. That is no way to do the day. So I am convinced that Thursday will be a much better day.
